Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a Catholic lay organization that leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering persons-to-persons service to those who are needy and suffering in the tradition of our founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and our patron, St. Vincent dePaul. We are called to serve!
The SVDP Society at St. Joseph, Largo, MD, maintains a Food Pantry, prepares food baskets upon requests and annually prepares and distributes Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets to the community. The Society annually supports the Forestville Pregnancy Center through a "Baby Bottle" fundraiser campaign. Once a month volunteers visit the Prince George's House, prepares a fresh and wholesome hot meal and serves its homeless patrons.
